London artist Jeff Cain has had a lifelong passion for the natural world. His interest in wild animals ,in particular carnivores ,took him to the wilderness regions of Alaska where he assisted wildlife biologists on various Wolverine,Lynx and Grizzly Bear field studies. While in the United States he painted North American Wildlife and sold them to local art galleries ,malls and tourist outlets . He also sold commissions to private wildlife collectors .
Jeff continued to sell original paintings and prints directly via his previously used website ( wolverine artwork ) to clients in the United States ,Canada, Russia and the UK . His artwork and written articles have been published in the British Mammal Society ,Small Carnivore Conservation .The Wolverine Foundation ,BBC Wildlife Magazine ,Indian Carnivore Checklist ,Mammal News,Scandinavian /Alaskan Wildlife Research journals and album cover sleeeve. Jeff was the film researcher for GULO Film Productions on three episodes of a National Geographic Documentary series on North American wildlife .
Jeff has recently openned a new website www.jeffanimalart.co.uk to focus on painting worldwide mammals and bird species . His preferred medium is professional artist acrylics and painting on smooth primed surfaces of fibreboard wood panels as these allow more freedom for highly detailed brushwork and he strives for scientific accuracy and realism in each of his paintings. He is now beginning a series of 6 new large paintings of South African Wildlife and these originals will be available for sale . His most recent painting of a life sized Namibian Lion is the first of these and is now starting the second painting of a Cape Buffalo Bull
