Prize wining painting ‘ Spirit of Plein Air’ . This was a very special day .As part of the Norwich paint out competition I chose to work on a canoe on the River Wensumm and painted with egg tempera,inks and natural pigments and including seaweed . I was lucky to have sunny not too windy weather . Equipped with paddles and anchor I set off to find an inspiring view . The Cow Tower felt relevant as a medieval remnant and always looked entrancing . My unique bicycle invention was very useful as was my test tube rack for carrying inks . The painting was produced in three hours with media interruptions . I was very happy to receive the ‘Spirit of Plein Air Prize’ . Egg tempera is an important medium in this painting
