Raku pottery

I am intrigued by contemporary Japanese style and Art Deco. and so, I incorporated the two in my Raku Fired Artwork Art Deco Meets Japan. No piece of Raku is the same, always unique and completely unpredictable.
This piece is in the most beautiful colours and at first glance appears to be made of stone and pure copper. The artwork has been fired to 1000 c and taken out of the kiln still glowing red and plunged into a reduction chamber containing all-natural combustible materials collected from our Cornish hedgerows. The ‘recipe ‘is a closely guarded secret and produces the most amazing metallic finishes in the Raku.
